Sources report that shortly afterwards, the article’s author – none other than infamous Rita Skeeter – was convicted of multiple accounts of slander and being an unregistered Animagus, though old Ministry records show that a similar trial was conducted ten years ago. (It’s interesting to note that the records mysteriously disappeared, as did the source who provided the information.) Skeeter was sentenced to ten years in Azkaban for her crimes, and the article was immediately taken out of print. The Daily Prophet was then discontinued for several weeks on account of a major building fire. Read the following article at your own risk and remember: you didn’t hear it from me.

[atrb=vAlign,top][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 350px;,true] Although it’s only been days since the appointment of new Minister of Magic, Astor Delacroix, Jude Gant seems to be a thing of the distant and wistful past. The wholeness and humbleness that was Gant’s cornerstone is no match for the destructive power of Delacroix’s iron fist. The last echoes of his inaugural speech haven’t even faded, but Delacroix has already declared all amendments for equal rights of non-human creatures to be abolished. His advisors are either silenced by shock and horror or mysteriously missing, according to a source close to the Minister: “It’s weird, it is,” says a source who wishes to remain anonymous. “Rufus [Callowad, Delacroix’s main advisor] started acting oddly at work. I thought it was just the stress of the job. Then, he plum stopped coming to work altogether, so I went to check out his home. All the furniture was gone and the yard was absent of the Callowads’ famous collection of garden gnomes. It looked like he and his family had gone and left the country.” What could have happened to Rufus and his family? Was the "move" simply a need to see | [atrb=vAlign, top] the world, or is there something more sinister behind the disappearance of the Callowads? “It is my belief that because non-human races are not wizards, they are not obliged to follow Wizarding law. If they are not bound to it, why should we as wizards – gifted with a wand and magical blood in our veins – pretend that they are? They may have ties to wizards, but they are entirely different and should therefore be treated with the respect associated with their station,” Delacroix stated in his inaugural speech a few days ago. Delacroix also went on to state that “it’s important to look to the future, but it’s equally as important to hold onto our roots.” [/style]Delacroix’s beliefs are a radical change from the gentility and kindness that was expended during Gant’s time in office. The new age of wizards has become familiar with an almost unnerving amount of acceptance and peace, and it appears that Delacorix has intentions to upturn that way of life. The entire Wizarding World is waiting with bated breath for what’s to come next from our new Minister of Magic. [style=text-align: right; font-style: italic;]Rita Skeeter The Daily Prophet |
