What was Carson going to do? Here he was falling enviably for a girl he shouldn’t have. His magical world the one that he had been raised to love and adore was falling apart to a madman and his best friend was being a prude and hanging out with his new girlfriend. It wasn’t that Carson wasn’t happy for his best friend, really there were no words that really described the happy thoughts that he received when he knew that his friend was happy, it was just that Carson wasn’t and well he was irrational and grumpy. The Hufflepuff male was ready to graduate, ready to make a difference and leave the life of Hogwarts in the dust, it was soon not going to be safe for anyone, sure that only truly applied towards those whom were what the Ministry called half-breeds, but Carson knew that he couldn’t stand and watch, he was going to get himself into trouble and there wasn’t a damn thing he could or anyone else could do to convince him otherwise.
Carson wandered, aimlessly. It was a bit impractical for he always had a plan, something up his sleeve, something and anything that made it possible for him to keep his entertainment levels at an all time high. He hadn’t really taken in much stock of what was going on today, or where his fellow students were up to really. All things that weren’t Carson, he was so involved with everything, it was almost impractical for him not to know the comings and goings of everyone that he knew or didn’t. Even his Animagus form wasn’t really all that helpful. Bounding in the snow was only entertainment for if someone was watching; someone was there to cheer at a African cat turning into a human, or someone to ask how he had done it.
Someone was what Carson wanted. Someone to talk to, and someone that he could actually enjoy being around, unlike his classmate counterparts that was only boring him. He sauntered through the corridors, passing one, two maybe three at a time before returning up the stairs and following the corridors around the school once more, following the pattern for a few moments before he finally, crashed onto the ground, it wasn’t a huffing crash, or even a trip kind of crash, simply he slipped to the floor and sat in the middle of the hallway. If this didn’t get him someone to talk to him, then Carson didn’t know what would gain him it.

Jethro Boyd was the kind of person who never tried to let himself get too concerned with the events of the magical or muggle world. There was always something awful happening somewhere, if he worried himself too much with every single little thing he surely would go mad. So he didn't, his only concern with the current ministry issues steaming from his .. dirty mistress who was currently a snatcher. So as he walked the halls of Hogwarts he had a hard time understanding the concern of all the other students. He passed a few on his adventures through the many corridors, and they all just looked dead. The ones who were members of the order seemed to be up in bunches lately about all these new laws, knowing that Hogwarts was going to be next. Jethro knew it was the truth, The Hufflepuff not denying that simple fact. But he wasn't worried - maybe some slight concern came over him for the few tainted blood students he knew but for the most part it seemed he was actually happy. This was a drastic change in his normal persona, Jethro normally having the outward appearance of a quiet, non-opinionated uncaring person.
His current happiness - if that is what you can call it - was because of Clove Lyons. Jethro wasn't use to being smitten with someone, and though he has experienced it before it was never quite like this. Clove was different from a lot of girls, and unlike others who would have ran at the sight of him and his awkward behaviors she stuck around for it. They had a good understanding of each other and no one understood him like she did. Though he had no idea what exactly they were, what they were doing or why they were doing it he didn't question it. It was fun and just felt right, and that was all he needed. He never really understood why various men and boys let themselves get down with girl troubles. Things don't have to be so complicated and things don't need a title. That was just silly talk. Though Jethro had been seriously been debating formally asking Clove to be his "girlfriend," whatever that meant, he decided against it for the time being. Maybe in the future but he was far too lazy and unmotivated to put effort into thinking about anything that was to happen after tomorrow.
A lollipop in his mouth and a pair of sunglasses resting on his face, Jethro had been lost in such thoughts for a while. He was enjoying his current sugar intake a bit too much as he literally danced his way down the hall way. It seemed he had his swagger on, as some people like to say, as he mosied on down the many halls and corridors sporting his completely unnecessary pair on sunglasses. To be honest he didn't even remember putting them on to be honest but he couldn't be bothered to take them off. That was just a silly idea, and he was enjoying seeing the castle through a darkest then usual light. As he continued on his way it had been a good few minutes since he actually ran into a person. He wasn't looking for company that was for sure, but it seemed after a few more steps Jethro was bound to have it. Sitting in the middle of the corridor was a fellow seventh year Hufflepuff that Jethro recognized. Only because of their similar house and year, Carson Mathews was never someone that Jethro Boyd had interacted with. Well, hat was until this very moment. Jethro continued to literally dance his way over to him, stopping once he was about a foot in front of his feet. He stared at him, his posture slouched, one hand in his pocket and the other gently holding onto his lollipop stick. He stayed like that for a good minute or two, the silence generally taken as something awkward for many but not for Jethro. Realizing that standing there was far too boring and asked too much of him, Jethro decided to sit down. But not just anywhere, in the exact spot that Carson was currently sitting in.
So in a few motions Jethro placed himself on Carson's lap. Why? Because he is Jethro and he does these kinds of things. He acted like it was no big deal as well, He just continuing to sit and suck on his lollipop. He looked up at the ceiling but still said nothing.
