Silesta sat alone, on the Hogwarts grounds. It was early in the morning, about six-thirty. It was still pretty dark out, since the sun rises later in the winter and all. The Ravenclaw girl yawned. She was tired from staying up late doing homework the night before, and not getting too much sleep. She wasn’t an insomniac, but for some reason, she just couldn’t stay asleep last night. As soon as six o’clock arrived (she was pretty sure curfew ends then), she got up, got dressed, and grabbed a blanket, planning to go sit outside for a while. She dressed warmly; a sweater on top of her shirt to keep warm, jeans, and then boots. And fuzzy socks! Once she got outside, it was still dark, and so she spread the blanket out on the grass, and sat down on it. The ground was a bit damp from the dew, and the last thing she wanted was to have a wet butt. She was still cold though, as the wind blew on her face, but she decided that this was better than to sit inside, not knowing what to do.
The cool air gave Silesta a clearer mind, and so the girl got to thinking. She thought about things often; she’s a Ravenclaw, after all. And those things ranged from unicorns to potions class, to the purpose of life. Today, it was a combination of all three. She was daydreaming one moment, and then thinking about schoolwork the other. It’s important to keep an active mind, or so her dad said, and so that’s exactly what she did. There was plenty to think about while staring at the sky, for sure. However, she got a little bored and tired after a while. She didn’t bring anything out here to do, a book, homework, nothing. The girl was far too lazy to go back in though. Going back into the castle meant that she’ll be back in the close, confined space, and that’s not what she wanted. She’ll be in there the rest of the day, and so she best enjoy the moment while she can. Silesta let out a small, contented sigh as she lay down on her blanket, pulling her sweater closer to her to keep warm. It’ll be time to head in soon… but she’s not about going in sooner than necessary.
((horrible post, but will get better!))

WREN WAS NEVER A MORNING PERSON. in fact, he's the opposite. he was the type of guy to go to sleep late and wake up at sun down. heck, he was usually late to his morning classes because he overslept. so why was someone like him up at six thirty in the morning, roaming the grounds of hogwarts? he took a deep breath, rubbing his eyes and tugged a sweater on over his white v-neck and slipped into his sneakers. he had plenty of time to go back to his room and change into his robes. grabbing a book, and his wand, he slowly crept out of the room. so maybe it wasn't a good idea to go outside in the morning in nothing but a thin sweater and sweatpants. the blonde shivered lightly, feeling the water from the grass soak into his sneakers and getting his socks wet. he silently cursed, grumbling to himself while walking around. he had no idea what he was doing. he didn't even know where he was going. it was dim outside, something that the badger was not used to. he was only out when the sun was shining, never when it was dark or dim.
his feet led him to the lake, the one place where he practiced magic without anyone around. it was where he could be found if he wasn't in his room, the library, or with ellis. when his vision cleared though, he saw that he wasn't the only person by the lake. a blonde? he wasn't sure. he walked closer, his wand handy but as he got near, he recognized the figure. the curly hair, the skinny figure, "silesta?" he asked, putting his wand away. he was pretty sure that it was the skinny ravenclaw that was laying down on the blanket. he had a tendency of befriending ravenclaws. maybe because he was supposed to be in that house. he wasn't sure. "hi there." he said, offering a friendly smile down at the girl's direction. he squatted down, so he was sort of at her level. "what're you doing out so early?" it was a stupid question, he knew but at least he tried making conversation. better than just awkward silence. something about the girl though got him tongue tied every once in a while and he wasn't really sure why.

Maybe she should try to go sleep, out here. It feels nice! Cold, but nice. Maybe she should try counting, in an attempt to fall asleep. The Ravenclaw girl did just that, but before she even got to thirty, a familiar voice called out her name. “yeahhh?” she said softly, looking up to see Wren, the Hufflepuff boy that she had been friends with for so long. Her face lit up with a smile. She had to fight the urge to throw her arms around him in a big hug. Okay, so they haven’t seen each other too much lately. Homework and prefect duties kept Silesta busy, and in truth, she didn’t have much time for her friends in other houses. But she could never forget about Wren. He was only like… her best friend. And almost like a brother as well. “Hey,” she greeted, sitting up, so it would be less awkward talking to him. She scooted over a little, and patted on the space beside her, motioning for the other boy to sit down by her too.
“I don’t know!” she said brightly, leaning into him and putting her head on his shoulder once he sat down beside her. He was warm, and it was comforting for Silesta to have someone else out here, enjoying the morning with her. “I couldn’t sleep,” she said truthfully. In return, she asked, “What are you doing out here?” Silesta knew very well that Wren hated early mornings. The Ravenclaw was extremely glad though, that out of everybody at Hogwarts, Wren showed up to keep her company. He was quite special to her; actually, they’ve been through everything together. The ups, the downs, the goods times, and the bad times. She remembered days when they would just sit together and study, and other days when they would just talk, and wonder about things randomly. That happened less often nowadays, since they were both older, and are busy preparing for exams, among other things. That, however, didn’t change how the girl felt about him. To her, he was like the older brother she never had, and at the same time, the best friend a girl could ever ask for. Recently, she wondered if she felt something more there as well… but even if she did, she wouldn’t do anything to jeopardize the friendship they already shared. In three words, well, Silesta adored him. She loved him with all her heart. He had always been there for her, and vice versa. Now, sitting by there with him, she could already tell her day is off to a good start. “So how are you?” she asked, snapping out of her thoughts.
